School Governance Council

The School Governance Council will be responsible to review and make recommendations on matters pertaining to overall school structure and management of the school including but not limited to:

  • School Budget
  • School Improvement Plan
  • Hiring of the Principal

2 Parent representatives selected by the Parent Senate
2 Student representatives selected by the Student Senate
2 Staff representatives selected by the Staff Senate
Principal (votes only in a tie break situation)

  • Each senate will select two members. One will serve from November 1st thru October 31st and other will serve from May 1st thru April 30th.
  • Any member who misses two consecutive meetings or 3 meetings in total will be referred to their senate for replacement.
  • Committee members who will be absent may send a representative from their senate as an alternate.  The absent member should give the chair the name of the replacement prior to the meeting.

Meeting Dates and Time
The committee will meet the 4th Wednesday of every month in the main office conference room from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The meeting is open to the public but may move to executive session when discussing personnel matters.


The committee shall select a chair and secretary at the start of each academic year.  The chair will be responsible for developing and distributing an agenda, facilitating the meeting, monitoring member attendance and issuing invitations to outside guests.  The secretary will be responsible for taking minutes and publishing/distributing those minutes through the school’s e-mail and web page systems within ten school days.

All meeting are held in the Classical Library on the second Tuesday of the month from 6:00-8:00pm
